長さ7mの板が宙に浮いているような展示台の制作

SFCでは、研究活動成果を社会に公開する「SFC Open Research Forum(ORF)」を毎年開催しています。

各研究室で実施している研究プロジェクトの現状を、展示やセッションを通して、社会に紹介するものです。鳴川研では、しまえる天板、The North Face Geo Vertex Chair、アソブル-ねじれクライム、ピンホールカメラプロジェクトの展示を行いました。

会期1日目には建築・都市計画に携わる5研究室による展示を，巡回しながらトークする，ギャラリーツアー「建築領域の拡張と融合」も開催しました。

Keio University’s Shonan Fujisawa Campus (SFC) holds the SFC Open Research Forum (ORF) annually as a platform to publicly showcase the outcomes of its research activities. This event highlights the current status and future plans of various research projects conducted at the laboratory through exhibitions and sessions, introducing them to industry, government, local authorities, academic societies, and the broader public.

At this year’s ORF, the Narukawa Lab presented the Foldable Tabletop, The North Face Geo Vertex Chair, Asoble – Twisted Climb 1, and Pinhole Cameras.

On the first day of the event, a gallery tour titled “Expansion and Integration in the Field of Architecture” was held, featuring a walkthrough and talks by five research labs engaged in architectural and urban planning studies.

約7mに及ぶ長大な展示台の天板は、ラワン合板とアルミ板を組合せて制作しました。1日しかない設営時間内で確実に完了するように、ユニットに分割し、会場で組み上げました。各展示物の配置についても、大きくて重いものほど床との距離が近い位置に置くことで、視認性と安定性を両立しています。

The approximately 7-meter-long board was constructed by combining lauan plywood and aluminum board. To allow for efficient assembly within a limited setup time, it was divided into several units and assembled on-site. The placement of the exhibits was also carefully considered, positioning larger and heavier items closer to the floor to balance visibility and stability.

透明ポリカーボネート板を湾曲させ複数配置することで脚部が目立たない展示台を設計・製作しました。柔らかいポリカ板に硬さと強さを与えるための曲げ方，端部処理を工夫しています。

ポリカ板がどのような曲線で曲がるのかを手作業でトレースし、そこで得られた情報をもとに設計を進めていきました。

We designed and fabricated a display table with multiple curved transparent polycarbonate panels arranged to minimize the visual impact of the legs. The bending method and edge treatment were carefully devised to enhance the stiffness and strength of the flexible polycarbonate sheets. We manually traced how the polycarbonate sheets curved, and used the information gathered to develop the design.

全艶の展示台の反射によって、通常は見えない展示物裏面のディテールが映されています。来場者が展示物の隅々にまで興味を持ってもらえるよう、素材の選定についても熟慮しました。

The reflections on the display table reveal details on the undersides of the exhibits that are usually difficult to see. This design encourages visitors to engage with every aspect of the displayed objects.
